Amp Wire connected to speaker wires at head unit

Hi Everyone. I have a technical question. My system is going into a 2006 honda civic that is known for being a pain to run new wire into the doors. Do you think I could get away with splicing my amp wire into the speaker wires at the head unit harness? I know stock wire is not the best and around 18-20g. My amp is a ppi 900.4 which puts down 150 rms at 4 ohms max. I hope to not be making my ears bleed *that much* plus there will be a passive crossover on my HSK 165 eating up allot of that rms power as well. I will be running new wire to the tweeters which are easier to access and will be in pods I am making. The splicing would be for the driver in the door only.

Thanks for your help.

You can splice it, it's thick enough. Running the same amp. Nice little powerhouse man.

nothing wrong with using the factory wiring in the vehicle. if its easier then do it. some cars are a pain to run into the doors. stock wiring is fine and can get loud as well.

Thanks so much for the vote of confidence. Seems like allot of the trehats I have read say that they ran new 16g wire to the doors. I would have no problem doing that if it wasn't for how horribly difficult it is to get the wire into the door on an 8th gen Honda. I would fight it if it was REALLY going to make a huge different, but if it's only going to matter at 110dB for long periods of time, it would be a waste. I will just get into the factory wiring at the head unit and run new wire for the tweeters which I'm going to put on the a pillar. I appreciate your responses.

Matt
