amp to sub hook up

Depends on how you wire the coils. Since I assume by "2ohm DVC" you mean each coil is 2ohm.....if you wired the coils in parallel, the amp would see 1ohm. If you wired the coils in series, the amp would see 4ohm. What type of amp you use doesn't matter......they will both see the same final impedence, as that is determined by the sub(s) and sub(s) alone.

You are right that an amp would only see the same final impedence but what he has to keep in mind is what the amp is rated at. A mono amp that is rated at 1ohm can take a 1ohm load but a 2 channel amp rated at 1ohm can only take a 2ohm (bridged) load. On multichannel amps the rating is usually for stereo operations. You have to X2 the rating when dealing with a bridged Mono setup.
