hello! i require some assistance and would really appreciate some help as i do not have the greatest understanding of car audio. i recently acquired a pioneer gm-5100t amplifier and a kicker comp c10 subwoofer that i would like to get installed into my regular cab ford ranger. what i wanted to know is if these two pair up well together? why or why not? would i also be able to power my door speakers with the amp along with the subwoofer? or would i need a separate amp for the door speakers? thank you in advance.

Pioneer GM-5100T

Bridgeable 2-channel capability 2 x 250 W or 1 x 760 W (Max. Power)

Continuous output power: 2 x 125 W or 1 x 380 W (4 Ω) 2 x 190 W (2 Ω)

2 x 175 W or 1 x 520 W (4 Ω) DIN Power (DIN 45324, +B = 14.4 V)

Load impedance capability (2 — 8 Ω)

LPF: 80 Hz, -12 dB/Oct

High Voltage Input capability (200 mV — 6.5 V)

KICKER Comp C10 Car subwoofer driver - 150 Watt

10" Single 4 Ohm Competition Series Subwoofer

Power Handling:

Peak: 300 watts

RMS: 150 watts

Impedance: Single 4 ohms

Infinity 6829CF 300W (Peak) 6 x 8 / 5 x 7 -Inch 2-Way Speakers

Peak Power Handling - 300 watts

RMS Power Handling - 100 watts

Impedance (Per Voice Coil) 2 ohms

That amp will not be able to power the door speakers and the sub because it is only a 2 channel amp. It should be just about perfect to power the door speakers, but if you were to bridge it to the sub, the comp definitely cannot handle that much power.

There are 2 solutions to power everything in your truck.

Get another 2 channel or mono amp that will put out ~150W RMS @ 4 ohms. Ignore Max ratings.

or

Get a 4 Channel amp that does ~75-100W RMS @ 4 Ohms X 4 and ~150W RMS @ 4 Ohms X 2 and bridge the rear channels to the sub, and put one of the door speakers on each front channel.

itll work just be careful with the sub power the comps can handle it if you are careful. and i strongly suggest a 1cubes sealed custom box or a 1.5cube ported box tuned to mid 30s.

infinity speakers generally have bright tweets but you may like them. use a good 4 gauge kit with that amp its a little power hungry

thank you so much for the quick response but now i am in an even bigger dilemma :/

is it worth it to just power the door speakers with this amp and get another one for the comp? what would you do? all i really want is some bass but i barely have any room in my regular cab.

this is the enclosure that i was going to get and it would go right behind the passenger seat - scosche truck enclosure

I think i will go for a 4 channel amp then so that i can power both my front door speakers and the subwoofer. I am on sonicelectronix.com looking at some right now. do you guys have any recommendations. i haven't heard of most of these brands...

This amp is the cheapest I'd go on sonic.

Precision Power PPI S320.4 (S3204) 4-Channel Car Amplifier/Amp (S3204)

Used amps in the for sale section here will get you a lot more for the money.
