amp/sub not hitting

Installed Alpine M-1000 amp paired with 12 inch Alpine Type R subwoofer. 4 guage power and ground wire. Subwoofer works but by no means wakes the neighbors, sounds mediocre. Have a good ground. What else could help get what I think this amp has?

Have the sub wired to the desired ohm load?

turn the setting up on the HU? otherwise how you got the voice coils wired?

If you have an alpine deck then turn your sub level to +15 and remember to set your gains. At 0 (factory default) Alpine decks will make it seem like your subs are off unless you have some major power then youll think something is wrong.

check the ohm load if the config is correct

id check the ohm load, as well as the voltage from the rca's. any o-scope should do this. also, what is the airspace andtype of enclouser are you using? the box can make a huge difference.

Make sure no wires are crossed. I know this too is stupid to say, but I have seen the leads from the amp feeding the sub that were crossed. = fail
