amp rack build in progress

it should be negative air pressure (more fans blowing out than in) will keep it the coolest if u go to add another make sure u have more fans blowing out than ******* in. Negative air pressure (blowing out) is much greater than positve (******* in) so make sure u go the fan blowing the right way //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

looks great though nice job

very nice work.
where did you get these fans?
They're 80mm fans usually used in computer cases. You can get them from most computer supply or electronics stores.

No real progress this week. Busy week at work so far...should get more done this weekend.

Thanks. It's actually the underside of the cover. The top is gonna be all carpet. Thought the aluminum JK logo might be a nice little touch when the top is lifted up.

Good call on the 45. I wanted to do that originally but was scared I'd F it up and they'd be off a bit. You noticing that confirms it. I gotta do it now...

nice work, to bad its going in a jeep jk, its a jeep meant for 4x4, this doesn't look to be trail rated to me...

but yes you do awsome work, and i may copy some of your ideas also...

got another dumb question for you... and don't take this the wrong way, your amp rack is awesome...

since everything is going to be hidden, the switch for the fans will be out of reach.. they should be running all the time, or a switch close at hand...

also, nice voltage/amp distro block, but again its hidden, kinda pointless, you can't see it from the front seat....

I spy dynaudios?
Yup //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

So I spend all day yesterday running the 1/0 power wire, speaker wires, remote turn-on, RCAs, Symbilinks, etc. in 95 degree heat. Hands getting chewed up to the bone routing them under the door seal trim panels and carpet. Blood, sweat and no tears...yet.

LAST FUGGIN thing to get through to the back: the RCAs. It was a tight fit through the part of the paneling I was routing through but I got a grip on the thick cable where the 4 RCAs meet. Start to pull and it's being stubborn. Pull a little harder and it starts to move. Then my sweaty azz hands slip off the cable and my fingers rip off the red RCA plug as I lose my grip.

So yeah, no tears but a "F**K THIS SH!T!" that echoed through the neighborhood and a search for my soldering iron began.
