Jinx they normally come with 3 wires... red +, black + and the third is the wire that reads and controls the RPMs of the fan when hooked to a computer's cpu. Obviously for our applications we don't need to connect this wire...just the + and -.Looks really good.
I don't want to get off topic, but I have a question
I'm in the middle of designing a new amp rack that will be totally enclosed. In the process of looking for fans I've come across some that 3 or 4 wires. Now obviously if it only has 2 that's easy, one + one -. What are the other wires? I noticed the fans you're using have what looks like 4, so I'm assuming it's ok to use this type of fan.
Ah, gotcha. I wasn't sure. I guess if I actually bought one, it would have had instructions explaining this. Good to know. Thanks, and like I said, great work.Jinx they normally come with 3 wires... red +, black + and the third is the wire that reads and controls the RPMs of the fan when hooked to a computer's cpu. I'm gonna do some more work tonight and get more pics up asap.
Those plastic grommets are available at Ace Hardware stores. They come in a bunch of sizes.nicely done....where did u get those wire ports.....those are pretty slick
The grain looks good but it's just standard 3/4" pine. I went with this because it's not too heavy and pretty cheap. When it's all said and done, the entire amp rack will be covered in dark graphite carpet which matches my interior exactly.Very nice build, the metal and wood grain looks excellent.
Just curious on where you got your hinges from. A friend of mine might need some for his install.
