AMP Problem???

When I start my truck and everything comes on the red light flashes (protection light) but then goes off. the amp is still lit up like its still on but my subs do not work? any ideas? I have checked all my wiring and I think its internal with the amp but thought I could get some feed back here before I send it off to get checked out. Thanks for looking.

make sure your rca's are plugged all the way in, also maybe try disconnect and reconnect everything on the amp (earth power remote ect ect) aswell as check your impedance of your subs) if there all fine, you have a dodgy amp

recheck the power grounds.

check and make sure all the connections mainly the ground and power have good connections not only at the amp but at ur grounding point and battery post.. usually when this kinda problem occurs i check to make sure the ground is full on metal to metal no paint no nothing...

o and kicker makes some sensitive *** amps so if ur ohm load on ur sub is to low it will throw them into protect as well

Thanks guys. I will recheck everything. it was working fine for months then I got in to go to work one day and nothing.

The first thing you should do is with your vehicle turned off, unhook your subs from the amp. Now try powering it on. Does it still go into protect? If not, there is a problem with your subs or sub wiring. Next, you need a DC volt meter. Measure from your + terminal on your amp to your - terminal. What is the voltage? If it's below 12v you'll need to make sure your alt is charging and that you have good grounds.
