amp problem

last night while i was driving my kenwood amp stopped working.

On really hot days it's cut in and out ( i have it where my spare tire is suppost to be) but the power light stays on. now last night it stoped and the light turned off. Both fuses are good, and the connections seem to be tight, anything else i should look at?

Don't go by looks......My friends amp was cutting in and out and the fuse LOOKED ok but when he accidentally moved it, the amp cut back on and then shut off once he let it go.....We took the fuseholder cover off and touched the fuse and it crumbled due to corrosion.

Make sure fuse is good by touching it and if its still not powering on then check the internals of your amp and look for something burnt.

tried that and everything still looks good

May be time for repair, get a DMM make sure you getting power to it, that's the first step. Start unhooking things from it like the RCAs and the speaker wires till you have finally determined that the problem must be in the amp.

I know they keep griping at me, I am just trying to a service for the users here, you can ask around I have done work for lots of users here and they are very happy. They shouldn't be worried about me, they need to look out for some of these other folks in the business that I hear nothing but bad things about.

I even asked them what it would cost to advertise here and they never got back in touch with me. So what can I do?

Make sure your remote lead is carrying voltage to the amp as well.

Solid ground connection? Metal sanded down for good continuity?

Going into thermal protection? A small PAC fan will help.
