Amp Problem

I got a used amp from my buddy it is a majestic gate 500 i hooked it up and it goes strait into protection mode nothing is hooked up wrong whats the problem?

It was workin when he pulled it out of the car at his car lot

Dissconnect all speakers from the output. Power it up. If it goes into protect mode give it back to your buddy and get an amp that works.
