Amp problem (Turning on and off)>>HELP?

Well my sub amp contiunues to turn on and off every 4 - 5 seconds when a bass note hits on a high, but safe volume level. The amp doesnt go into protect mode, it just turns off. Happens more frequently with use of ipod, but it happens still with cds.

ANy ideas what it could be?

Im thinking fuse, but my big 1/0 gauge fuses seem fine, but im not sure about my power run fuses from the distro into 4 gauge is to the amp, it under my seat

If it was the fuses, you would need to replace them every time they blew.

I bet voltage drops, what is your electrical like?

electrical = stock 80 amp alt, 1/0 gauge big three throughout, 2 batteries.

i got 13.8 volts at idle, and 12.8 volts while car is off. no music

yeah its not your fuses because you would have to replace them. and your sure it shuts off? i was thinking voltage drops too.

yeah, it shuts off as in both the power light and protection light dont come on. The protection light works cause i had some problems with that a few weeks ago.

Any other ideas? ill check voltage with the dmm and music on my volume level

i'm going thru the same thing ...i'm about to check my remote wire cuz i notice when i play with it my power comes on...i may need a relay

make sure all your connections are secure after you check your voltage, keep us updated

check volts at the amp with music playing
