Amp problem, 1 rca louder than 2?

ok i understand, I just wanna thank you for the help, I cant wait to get out there tomorrow and mess around and see what I can find, the whole sounding good running off of 1 rca wire outta the set it just confusing me?? doesnt make sense, then when you plug the other one in it makes the sub pop once and the lights flicker a tad and then it starts sounding weird, then you unplug one rca, and one sub starts slamming and sounds very good?

is there a quick way to check my polarity is correct without removing the speaker from the box?
You take a 9volt battery and and touch the positive terminal to the (what is supposed to be) the positive speaker wire, same with the negative.

If the polarity is correct the sub will move forward slightly.

If the polarity is incorrect and the positive battery terminal is actually touching the speakers negative terminal the sub will move slighty inward.

Your subs are dual voice coil so that complicates things, if you connected one the coils correct and the other incorrect on the same sub the 9volt test will be inconclusive.

The only way to be absolutely sure is to pop them out of the box and rewire them.

Important note-

Its bad to uplug and plug in RCA's while the amp is running, its hard on the inputs and could possibly damage them.

That weird noise is probably because of the one of the subs wired wrong, you'll get it all fixed tomorrow.

yeah I am maybe thinking in wiring the subs before I put them in the box, I might of wired a - to a - on the speaker or a + to a + on the speaker.

will unscrewing the subs, weaken my boxes sub holding strength? I wanna make sure the subs stay scewed in tight, after I spent all the time building it ya know.

ok, I will stop doing that then immediatley

sometimes my friend will try to get alittle to helpful, and start pulling the rcas and switchin them and stuff :S but i never had the system up above volume like 5 barely moving sub, during this.

Unfortunatly the screws will chew the wood up with repeated taking the sub out and putting it back in, so you want to make sure you get it right the first time to avoid having to go back in there.

Turning the sub slightly to offset the mounting holes will work if the original holes are too badly chewed up.

Those coarse thread black drywall screws are pretty good for not chewing the wood up too bad.

hmm I guess ill find out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Ill have to let you know

Ill get you a picture of my box I just finished tonite sometime tomorrow

I fixed the polarity you were right on of the wires was backwards, I put the 9volt and it sucked in and the other pushed out so I switch it and ta da, then I piggybacked the wires, and bridged it mono 2ohm, and drove around for about 20 mins slammin pretty good most the time, and when I got out I felt the amp and it was warm to the touch, but not bad, ive got a temp gun, but not with me id guess running maybe 100 degrees, and its about 80 outside.
