Amp not putting out what it should? plz help

I've seen many setups with bad grounds do this, start your car, test the voltage at idle on your underhood battery, system off, then go to your amp, put the positive dmm on the amp input positive and the ground dmm on the actual ground where you are grounded, if its not lined up with under the hood, in your case will likely show far less than under the hood, you have a clog in your electrical due to a bad ground.
Something to try to help solve the issue
Thanks for the input. I honestly haven't tried this, for a couple different reasons: one being that if I had a bad ground, voltage would be all over the place. Secondly , I physically cannot' ground any better. Theres no other option. Im essentially grounded to the actual frame. A qtr inch steel I beam.

But i will try. Thanks

You could run an extra ground wire directly to the engine block/alternator or battery negative
I could. Im already running dual power/grounds. And battery/ big 3 are all grounded to said frame.

Idk, ill continue at it. Trying a new box here soon. Another idea was that maybe my woofers still need more break in time, being stiff suspension n all. Iv had them for a couple months now though so i kinda doubt it. No real way to tell though
