amp help please

I have a 16-MCD500 memphis amp and i would like to know what would happen if i put an 1 ohm load to it cause i'm pretty sure it isn't 1 ohm stable

It may hang in there for a little while but you probably will see smoke in the end. If you want a new amp, give it a try.

you may or may not get away with it....i wouldnt do it personally unless it was ONLY for spl burps...

Yeah...SPL testing is probably going to be the only time you can do it, because depending on imp. rise and frequency used for the burp, the actual load seen by the amp is likely to be higher than 1 ohm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Otherwise, your impedance is likely to be under what the amp can safely tolerate.
