Hey, I got 2 12" Audiobahn Subs in my 1992 Honda Civic. They're dual coil subs, and someone told me that I need a mono (class D) amp for them, is this true? They can handle 600W max....

I need some good advice on what amp I should get and how to wire it with a mono amp. Which brand should I get and how powerful? I want a good cheap one (bad combination, I know....lol)

Thankx for your help.....

Someone who knows this stuff told me that they were 4ohms, but that I should run them off a mono amp and and run them on 1 ohm......dunno what the hell this means.....lol. I just want those suckers to kikk......lol

I want a cheap good amp.....I guess the very max limit is about $400....

Is the Rockford Fosgate "Power BD500.1 Amplifier - 500x1 @ 2 ohm (watts RMS)" gonna be a good choice? Saw this for $310.....

If u have 2 4ohm subs and wire them u'll either get a 4ohm load or a 1ohm load

you would wire them either in a sires-parallel, or a parallel-parallel(go to matrixaudio.com to see how to wire them)

that amp may work in 1ohm but i wouldnt try it, a few years ago it may have done it no problem, but i wouldnt try it now a-days.

u might want to look at the power 500.2(369.oo)500 watts R.M.S @ 4ohms. the JL 500.1(375.oo) 500 watts R.M.S @ 4-1.5ohms. Phoenix Gold Tantrum 500.2(400.oo) 500 watts R.M.S @ 4ohms.

Any other questions just ask,

good luck with the stereo.
