Amp Going into protect

well basically i ordered to new amps and they went into protect mode.......i was about to send them back but then i hooked them into my friends car and they worked 100 percent......so i figure there is something up with my wiring i take out a dmm and i read the output at the battery 11 volts on a cheap radioshack dmm. i hit 11 volts all the way past the fuse in the front and past the distribution block in the back that spits to the amps....well when i hooked the dmm to the leads on the amp it read 4 volts....so im guessing its in protect because the volts are to low but i cant figure out why they are so low and why the amp is going into protect mode instantly.

By the way the grounds are good because i hooked them up the dmm while also using the power wires and its gave me 11 volts of output....also the remote wire was reading out 11 volts.....

its because your voltage is so low, 4volts at the amp? wtf...is that with car on or off?
car was off...but it was in protect mode as soon as it was plugged into my car(brand new amp.....it worked fine when i put it in my friends car......the funny thing is tho my car starts up normal and everything i cant figure why its not turning on....

Was your amp on or off when you took those readings. Did you check the fuses of the distro?

the amp was "on" in protect mode......the status light blinked and faded away slowly then the protect mode came on..........another amp switched to protect and on rapidly without any output to the sub continuously...........i did check the fuses at the distrubition.....i even swapped anl fuses and acg fuses and even eliminated the block all together

judging by your user name, is your accord a sedan or coupe?nice to see another fellow owner of an accord
6th gen coupe......i had a 6th gen sedan for my first car....brought a 2001 audi 1.8t.....sold it got the coupe...idk something about accords i just like them....i c u have a 6th gen to...check out 6thgenaccord.com they have alot of people from socal on there u can get some good deals on parts every once n a while

it ended up being a loose connect between the alternator and battery so it wasnt charging properly........i picked out a bigger terminal and instanty got my volts where they were supposed to be...and the system is bumping
