Amp confusion

Okay, i bought an alpine MRV-T757 amp off of ebay a year or so ago, and ive noticed that the light that signals power is telling me i have low voltage (below 10v). i took my voltmeter and checked it out, and at idle im putting 13.8 to the trunk. The amp sounds great though, so im thinking one of the wires or resistors are fried inside telling me that theres low voltage...oooorrrrr, the circuit that monitors the voltage is bad. Any suggestions on how i could troubleshoot it? Anyone have the same amp? Wanna sell it?
