You'd be really hard pressed to try to burn up 3" coils with 500W, even whatever wimpy Chinese one they put in those Power Acoustic subs.

I thought they were 2.5 inch coils?

At least the ones I saw were.

i know but i'm just saying turn it down see if that helps.. when peps say it's not all the way up they normally mean 80% so almost 100.. but i think main problem is box and ss filter/ bass boost..

That bandwidth is way too large.

Do you know what your box is tuned at?

You'll want to set your LFP/HPF according to your box tune.

The LPF could be fine depending on what your box is tuned at, but that HPF should come down to at least 60hz IMO.

Didn't know that about ford radios, thats actually good to know.

Not sure how accurate that is. My ford’s max clean volume is 24 out of 30

thats gotta be it only 1 i've seen and i looked at 500 subs under $200 this yr.. ppi has some that are basically same thing 1 has cool red basket but thats only pa mofo i know of..

You're right, and that's probably what OP has.

Would love to see pics of the subs in box as they sit in his vehicle.

Those PA subs are junk.

So....I've managed to **** off a few new members because I called their boss gear junk and haven't returned since. See if I can get another one.

I had my old mofo on my PRV at 4ohms for about a month. So about 2k give or take. Got a little smelly at first but gain down a smidge more and it stopped.

Turn it down.

should have listened to you in the first place. credit goes to you. set gain back to 0 and then set slowly upped it. cant even get to 50% without it making the noise. adjusted to about 45% and set the other settings, and it sounds just as amazing without the noise. hats off to you. thank you. learned some more knowledge out of this. appreciate all the help
