the prob is wanting to pay a lil $ but get a high quality USA made sub. this is why companys went to china because people are all about the cheap these days. i rebuild china subs all the time...

Atomic

Mmats

Incriminator audio

Fi car audio

Digital designs

If you are looking for something similar to the V.1 W6 in sq, output , and quality I would recommend the IA lethal injection or flatlyne

I will say this though quality is quality no matter where its made and SD subs are a quality product

They have outsourced alot over the last few years , I would have agreed with you in 2005 -06 , but not really any more

Who besides JL Audio makes there subs here in the U.S.? I was about to order some Sundown SA-12's but found out that they are made in China. I will not pay $200 a piece for Chinese speakers. I am willing to pay more for good ole American made stuff. Sad part is I had Pro-Rabbit build me a box for the SA-12's, what good American sub will work in the same box? I am willing to spend up to $400 per sub.

First of all nearly everything in the big subwoofer department is made in China. Emminence and Credence still build a lot of woofers in USA, but I'd suspect they use imported parts as well. Even the "made in USA" subs almost all buy the motors (or their parts) from China. Better companies use American softparts, and many assemble parts here.

If you're willing to pay more for ASSEMBLED in USA buy Z or Nightshade.

This is the key here. America's over-regulating business and failure to tax imports (as all other countries do) has all but eliminated manufacturing as we once knew it. I don't know if someone could build a really big woofer all in USA if they had to.

That all being said, Jacob told me this winter that he was planning on buying a magnetizer so that he could assemble (possible eventually machine?) his big motors in house.

Even when TC was "American made" and magnetized their motors they bought all the steel and magnetic slugs from China.

OP. Buy a **** Chinese sub for 200$ and spend the other 200$ going out to dinner a few times at a local family owned restaurant or pay a local cabinet shop to build your box if you want to support American small business.

It is all about profit, if Incriminator can build a sub of equal or better quality here in America for the same price as Sundown, obviously Sundown is making alot more profit, someone is greedy.

Really???? Because I would rather spend my money on a company that is building there stuff here in the U.S. I dont care if they are made with Chinese parts and assembled here in the U.S.. At least I know a American citizen that probably has a family and is paying taxes and actually contributing to our economy is being employed and putting my subs together, not a 10 year old Chinaman that probably cant spell sub is putting together my $200 speaker. I also am a musician but guess what I play a American Strat, not a Mexican Strat, even though I can buy 3 Mexican Strats for the price of a American Strat and you cant really tell the difference in the two. I spend my money on American equipment if at all possible, matter of fact I will go out of my way to buy American! And people wonder why our economy is failing. Buy American!!!! Support America, not China!!!

Amps are a different story, you dont have a choice like you do with subs. When giving a choice I will buy American.
