Hey shredder2. Are you looking at #’s from a new one? Not sure what’s up with their specs but the current one has bl of 18, fs of 15 with the aluminum coil, mine has bl of 28, fs of 20 with copper coil. Shouldn’t the fs of the aluminum coil be higher because of the weight?

Another thing I’m wondering. Could I mess around with a port if the rear of the car isn’t built into a box? It’s an in wall right now. Small hatchback with about 35cu. behind wall. Car is pretty tight. Love it the way it is but it would be easy to port up near the ceiling.

Wow... that's a TON of port area... lots of Xmax... big power too... I might go shopping now... those things go low!

Throw up some pics if you can....of sub and wall. You might have an older XXX sub vs. athe newer one, which would explain the diff specs issue.

Lots of space above woofer but amps are mounted beside so no room there.

I'm not at home currently... I believe it was the latest model I used... a d4 as well... 5.75 ft3 with a big port... maybe 95-100 in2... iirc?.. the things had a crazy peak at 35hz (+5db) or so and went to -3db @ 23hz... the excursion/power handling was looking good with over 5k of input... it looked pretty good to me... I'll send you what I got tomorrow if you want... I'm considering buying a pair myself... those subs look like they'll take a bunch of power and abuse... just what l need... lol

Oh awesome. That would be great! Mine seems a bit peaky 40-45? Eq’d it down a bit and sounds nice. Very loud even under 20hz. If you like eerie lows you’ll enjoy these.

The peak on the subs I looked at was between 34-38hz depending on box size... wow... I'm not sure if I can really realistically fit a 5.75 ft3 net with 100in2 of port in a S-10 Blazer... but it'll be fun to try... that SUV of mine has a peak at 35hz to boot... I used a 30hz tune and it looked like just what the doctor ordered... it's gonna go UNDER 20 hz in car looks like to me....pretty strong too... idk... maybe I'm seeing things or something but I'll send ya what I got tomorrow.

So I would be very concerned about giving a single sub 8k. A 3" coil can't handle that many watts, I wouldn't think. I've seen a few 3" coils take on a 3500 watt amp but any more than that and it'll blow.

If a 12” pair of both sets of subs was available for free, which set would you guys pick and why? Have an equally good opportunity on set of either, but don’t know much about either other than the re is quite a bit more expensive. Is that with reason?Thank you

Mine needs help...think my monitor is going out. Sometimes there's black boxes so I can't see on the screen, then whole screen turns black. Plus my tabs crash every half hr or so.
