all you against the R, if this was a W7 , or a XXX bandwagon im sure alot of you wouldnt be saying anything, like stated in others threads, YOU ARE REALLY THE PROBLEM , BECAUSE YOU KNOW ON THE POST PAGE WHERE IT HAS ALL THE LISTINGS...

They are good for the money so it makes them popular. They are not made very well though IMO. The shop here in town that I work at part time carries Alpine and like more than 50% of our sub returns in last few months have been type R's Not very durable for the long haul and seem to not handle power they are rated at consistently. The hype will wear off, and if not there will be job openings for shepherds to tend to all the sheep:laugh:

type r's are pretty good, but to be honest my 4 15's are louder in most cases

Bad spelling nonwithstanding, my definition of a bandwagon implies that some members lack the knowledge to properly understand why a recommendation was made, what something did in someone's install, etc...so some make gross generalizations that stretch the limits of the truth - making it seem like the bandwagon product is the only thing available or worthwhile in that category.

I've heard the Type R's, new and old, in proper installs - and I'd still recommend other products right alongside them. Oops.

OK, don't get me involve in the flamewar, I'm just mentioning that you guys purposefully post Type R threads to get them read. Well congratulations, they've been read and are being read, and this thread is proof.

I really think everything to say about the Type R has been said already. It's still too early for it's flaws to come out, but when they do we'll see threads about that, as well.
