Maybe my corner of the internet is weird, but in my numerous other forums, I have never really heard of the "ship first" mentality. I mean, I have gotten stuff from people who are ON the forums, but whom I know OUTSIDE of the forums, and paid them later, but I have never even seen the idea of "ship before payment" until I joined CA.
When I say that I am on other forums, I don't mean to imply that I run all over the internet on forums, but on forums for my last 3-4 different vehicles (some with multiple forums), I have not seen that practice.

Well, what I would like to know from MalevOlent is why it was necessary to create a new identity for the purpose of a sale in the first place.

And to the guy who posted the IP address....Ever heard of NAT'ing an IP address? Thats right buddy, we work at the same place, if you don't believe me, check out where the ip is registered to, it sure isn't my house.

Now people are outright accusing an honest person of scamming with NO PROOF...wonderful.

Like I said, when the people get their stuff (and they will, he shipped it today) I will love to see the direction this thread turns.

As for my PM to you, I stand by it 100%. I don't think it is appropriate on a forum or anywhere else to take someones goods in exchange for nothing.

If you work together, thats great. I didn't accuse you of scamming. in fact i said that I hope nobody got ripped off. but this thread shows that it's not crazy for me to ask that he ships first. W7's are probably the most scammed sub, and he was offering a good price, with nothing to say he's legit. It wasn't a risk I wanted to take.

It works both ways, is it fair for him to get my money while he still has the product? I posted this due to you jumping down my throat on what I (along with many others) thought was an appropriate way to handle the sale. Like I originally said, I don't care if he doesn't want to send it that way, no sweat for me. if he does, great. he gets his money, and I get my sub. Both of us are happy.

If someone came on here, with no references, and I was interested in something they had, I'd request they ship first. I have probably over 100 references just from car audio forums alone, and I'm not about to hand my cash over to someone that cannot provide any references, aside from their 'friend' on the forum.
