Oh yeah cuz how much power a sub can handle determins how great it is. Your a moron.dude you should have bought different subs, type x's can't handle much power.
So what your saying is for SQ less than 500 watts should be ran. So the 1100-1500 I send my XXX is a waste and only for SPL??? Ok dude. Maybe you mean only on the type X?Type X are wonderful subs.........SQ SUBS!!!!!! I REALLY LIKE THEM but someone putting that much power on subs wants LOUD SPL, not SQ. ANd for SPL type x is not a good choice. They are very brittle subs. Should of got some bulletproof subs for a viper 2500D. I know because i've owned a viper 2500D and it can EASLY tear apart much stronger subs.
And i have 2 friends with type X's run with less than 500w each that have surrounds that came off the sub from excursion. And another that fried the voice coils run off only a JBL 600.1
The Type X's should do fine on that power, during testing just one Type X took way more then what that amp puts out.I'm just saying that the type x's won't stand up to the power of a 2500D and if you were wanting to get full potential out of the viper the alpines won't take it. Now if you just wanted overhead fine, but don't expect the type x's to last very long with 1200w each
