I have the Type-S 6.5 coaxes, which I assume are pretty close.

They are OK, but I would highly recommend the Type-Rs instead. The highs are much clearer along with much more midbass response, and usually they are only slightly more expensive. The highs on the Type-Ss are ear piercing to me, I much prefer the Type-Rs silk dome.

I have them as rear fill. I have always been happy with them. They can take some power. Good speakers for the price.

Both have good bass response but the type R has better bass response and the type S has a brighter tweeter.

I was thinking of getting these as well....amping with a Auto Tek SS 600.4 Along with some 5 1/4. Im not looking for show quality or anything...but there in my price range.

Pioneer Revs might be a candidate for you, then. 80-90w rms on those and they'll pump out some dang nice low-end.

I wasnt asking for help...Saying I was planning on getting them obviously shows I did some research and thought they were decent, but not show quality. I liked what I heard with the type S even off head unit power. Depending on how much power you will be providing the Type S's might sound better just b/c they make better use of less power. If you are going to give the Type R's their RMS rating or a little more then I would go with the Type R's since its only an extra $35
