i have a sony 1600(500 rms) amp.right now im running my 4 ohm dvc alpines at 4 ohms(2 of them).

my ? is-if i ran just one of them at 2 ohms(900 watts) would they handle it?cuase i would swear i hear them bottoming out at 500 watts!!

If you hear them bottoming out, chances are your gain is set too high or you have a poorly built box. Try running one with that amp, making sure you have no air leaks and your gain is set fairly low.

ive got an obscon ported box...do the type r's sound good sealed?

yes they do, they sound very good sealed. Put like any other sub, they will not put out as much SPL as in a ported box.

what size enclosure....i know my box is .66 cubic feet and it takes 485 RMS to bottom out the sub.

what size r series subs are they? The bigger they are, the more power they can handle. I'm pushing two 15's with roughly 450 watts rms into each and they dont bottom out at all, not sure what size the box is, i got it for free, so who cares?
