Perfects prob. have better SQ, but not by much, but the Diamonds will beat them in SPL. In my setup at least.

How are you going to say that when I've seen too many Perfects blown not even running the full recommended power? The type R's handle their rated Rms plus some, and are in my opinion much louder than the Perfects. The SQ is about the same, really hard to tell much of a difference. I can't comment on the M5's, but I sure as hell would like to see the Type R's vs M5. The Type R's were quakin with 750 a piece, pretty loud, would take an awful lot to beat it.

i have 2 12" M5's with 500 watts per sub, and my friend has 2 Type-R 12"s with 750 going to each, and mine are louder, and have better SQ. His are in an S10, so you would think that they would be louder, because of the small interior volume of an S10, but mine in my Jeep are really louder. I would love to see a test between the M5/M6 and the Type R. preferably in 12" form, because Type-R 10" **** big butthole.

well i never had my perfects tested for spl but they sounded very nice. Theres a lot of people on forumes saying they hit over 140 with 2 perfects.. I think one guy said he hit 149... I dont necessarily believe all that but i really doubt 2 type r's could hit that. Theres lots of perfects that will take way more poewr than recommended from what i've heard, numerous people claim to be running 1500bd's and xtant 1001's with them and 81000d's, i guess i just wasnt lucky. I think they just had a lot of defective ones..

I'm sure your infinities sounded very nice. they make great SQ products. it's just that they won't make an SPL freak jump out of their shorts or anything. I've personally never heard a perfect in a car, but i've heard the best home audio sub. (i don't remember what it was). and that was plenty loud enough.

they have great SQ, and decent SPL, but if your an SPL freak they will not blow you away.

Heard OF them, have not heard them. But i take it they are a great mix of both.
