Alpine Type R's or ED?

So I was looking at getting 2 of the new 12" Alpine Type R's. I also noticed that the eD K's are the same price shipped. After talking to the eD rep, he told me the type R's wouldnt get as loud as the K's....is this true? The subs will be running off a Hifonics 1500.1. Im trying to stay within the 300$ pricerange

Of course the eD Rep is going to say they're product is better...durrr. From experience with type-R's...they're great for the money and would bet that they would outsound the eD crap.

Dude, theres an official Type R thread. . .read up on it and as far as ED. . ppl dont like it on this forum, they are ANTI ed from what I noticed. Look for an anonymous source. . who knows u might find someone on here.

If you want a more honest ed comparison thread, check out elitecaraudio.com..

they will give you some educated, informed answers.. and they are not totally against ed there...

I think they are comprable, but I havent played with the k's or the r's... this is just off of rumors.. but I like the look of the black cone k series a lot more than the r's

depends on how much power you're going to give them...small power, i'd go ed...

but theres no way in hell the kv2 is going to hold to the type r when you give the r 1000+ rms...

btw, i hope you use the ed forum discount and don't get *****...

but i'd still go for a r over a ed any day of the week..

i have an r and it is nice but my buddy has ed and they are nice too, personally i would go with ed for their customer service.

Man i sure hope this is true! I have a 1800WRMS coming via UPS this week for my R. At the moment i have

Overall the R is a great sub. Can't beat it for the price. It shakes my ranger (which is a single cab) off of 500 watts so with 1100...you will be in business!

I'd take any eD over any Alpine any day of the week - just personal preference... I've never really respected Alpine a whole helluva lot... eD's customer service is second to none not to mention their outrageously inexpensive prices for what you're getting... but for the high pwr handling issue, hit the Ov's instead of the K's...

The company had a rough patch back in the day - a few years back... NOW, they're on top of their game.. They've got their shiznittle straight...

I vote for neither. Go with Fi X's, AA Assassins, or Mach 5 MAW's.

But if I could only choose one from the two listed, I'd go with the Type R strictly for build quality and customer service history.
