w0 vs w6 good deal?

I recently bought 2 JL 12w0 subs(older ones with "**** cone"), SVC 8ohm in a sealed JL power-wedge box and a fosgate power 360a2(wiring included). I paid $225. I think I might have overpaid a bit and am kinda disappointed with the performance, especially since my 89 montero has a lot of interior space. This is my first sub setup and I'm pretty new to car audio so i guess it's part of the deal.

Well I was cruising the classified and found 2 jl 12 W6 subs(older "**** cone") in a sealed box with a fosgate punch 500.2 amp and all wiring. Appears to be in top condition. All this for 250 OBO, that's a killer deal right?

So should I jump on this and sell my old stuff? I'm thinking I will swap boxes, sell the WOs and both amps and buy a quality mono amp with sufficient power.

My main question is will I notice a definite difference in bass quality/punch/volume in two w6s vs two w0s to make this all worth it?

Any input would be appreciated.

yes yes yes yes yes yes yes

is this a good deal though? Does anyone have any experience with the old **** cone w6s? I have an email into the guy and would like to go take a look tomorrow.

WTF is a **** cone, you could just say its the older model //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You should upgrade, is there pics of the equip in the listing? I may be interested in the 500.2.

hormones sir

go for the w6's!

If the equipment is in good shape, it would be a good deal, however that equipment isn't matched up that well.

The old W6s were only available in dual 6 ohm voice coils. The reason is so that you could run 3 subs and wire them to 4 ohms or 1 ohm (therefore they would be compatible with most common class A/B 4 ohm mono bridged amps and Class D 1 ohm mono stable amps.

that amp is 2 ohm stereo stable/4 ohm monostable. If you run 1 sub per channel you would have a 3 ohm load which would be roughly 200 watts per channel (not bad but the more power the better) If your wire both subs in parallel and bridge the amp then you will have a 2 ohm load, which the amp wasn't recommended to do and might not like to run that configuration.

So you might want to speak to the seller to see how they had wired the setup, for clues as to how the equipment was treated.
