Alpine Type - R "Rattle Fart"

I think it's time to call alpine. Don't just email them, CALL THEM.

Light 'em up like a Christmas Tree until they help //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

When I had my R's they never "rattle farted"... not once. The first thing I would think of in your case would be that your subs have been doing this since day one that you had them installed, right? Well, I really don't think you had the unfortunate luck of getting TWO bad Type R's at the same time, I would start thinking it might be the amp if I were you.

i vote tinsel lead slap, allthough i havent seen an ARRR in awile, take that thing out, play it just loud enough so it makes the ratttle, and the stick your finger in there and try and stop the rattling if you can find it, ive done this with really old crappy subs and its usually tinsel slap, or the spider could be lose where it meets the coil? and if it is, just glue it, and p.s. subwoofer break in is nothing to worry about its just the softparts of your woofer loosening up i havent nor heard of anyone blowing a sub hooked up correctly just becuase it wasnt "broken in"

Oh ya, and FYI... endofdays rocks legacy amps, at least he did anyways. That could be why his are cake farting too.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I should be as the subs are only like a month old. I bought them from visions electronics but I dont have the boxes anymore so I would probly have to deal with Alpine

Well I was researching a bit more on tinsel slap and came across this youtube video. This is EXACTLY what my subs do http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJRd4Q9QMPU

Is there anyway to fix this? I noticed in the youtube comments it states "The subs are not bottoming out! It's tinsel slap, I was a dumb *** and routed the tinsel leads wrong... " Can anyone explain this?

Not to bring up a really old thread, but I have the same issue. Just wondering if you ever got this fixed. Both Subs are doing it. I have the same subs. I am just going to take them to East Hamilton Radio where I bought them, get them to fix them. They are still under warranty.
