What do you guys think of this battery position?

Setup the DMM yesterday and found out i'm dropping into the 11.0's on some of decaf's great songs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. Currently running 1800 off my 80 amp alternator/big 3 +a kinetic hc600 in the trunk.

So, I need more electrical!!

I happened to have this spare prostart battery in my garage. It's resting at 12.5.

So what do you think of installing it in the place pictured? I'm not sure how to build a rack to hold it there...it's sitting on wood blocks in the picture. The car's intake resonator used to be there, but I took it out (common "mod" on this car).

I wouldn't

The steel looks too thin to support that battery and a support cage aswell....could be wrong though. Does it flex at all when the battery sits on it without the wood helping to hold it up?

The steel part is fine, its very thick and supports some other parts of the car as well.

The bumper part is extremely weak, so obviously i'll need to design something that attatches to the steel part only. Iv'e been trying to figure out something all day...but so far unsuccessful.

ok lol its not steal.. its a plastic pice that keeps the rain water out of the air box suction... and i would not set it that low.. what if u go down a big ramp or a steap hill... ur bumper drags and could posably ruien the batery. mount it alittle higher ( attach to the rails) and then u should be all set.

i no some cars have there battery right there. a dodge stratus one of the older ones. we had it as a shop car in highschool and its battery was in the wheel well
Older sebring has the battery in the fender, pain to change.

maybe it was just too good to be true //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif. Whats right above the battery. Some frame? Maybe you could attached a cage type mount to that?

It could be done, raise the battery, build a bottomr to support it, then angle some bars down and attatched to the top of the metal crash bar.

i wouldn't..

instead of adding more strain with another cheap bettery on an 80amp stock alt, get yourself a bigger battery bank for the trunk and a higher output alt.. the little band aids you're adding aren't going to cure your issue.
