alpine type R motor It had a fried coil so I started to Dissamble the cone Thinking I would get a re cone kit from Fi got into it.. realised it was to much work. All I have done is pulled up the glue and broke the surround loose and loosened up the 4 phillips bolts in it. I only have 2 I will search for the other

Well I went on UPS shipping Calculator and I wasnt sure if it would fit in one of there pre sized boxes so I chose PAK which I assume stands for package I put the weight in as 20lbs which it weighs 19.6 and width and length at 12 inches and I put in the height at 7.5

and for their most basic shipping it was 40 bucks

I think your doing it wrong

flip it up side down n have someone pick it up by the motor then take the rubber mallet to the basket. should pry off just don't let them drop the motor when hitting the basket with mallet

Fed Ex will be cheaper than UPS. USPS flat rate would be best if you could get the basket off. Try a heat gun to soften any epoxy between basket and motor.

FYI I hammered on mine for 30mins also and that won't do the trick as the glue holds it together.

Only way to get it off is to use a heat gun and then wedge something between the motor and basket... the motor will come right off

between the motor and basket.. trick is to heat it up as much as possible

i have a 15 type r thats blown is it a bigger coil than the 12

Still have it but basket is still on, if you can localy pick it up thats fine

LOL. Poor OP spent probably 6 hours trying to get the basket off to make a 10$ sale. I feel your pain, bro.

Heat it up with a heat gun take a flat head and a hammer/rubber mallet and lightly tap it to try and separate it
