Alpine type-R motor

alpine type R motor It had a fried coil so I started to Dissamble the cone Thinking I would get a re cone kit from Fi got into it.. realised it was to much work. All I have done is pulled up the glue and broke the surround loose and loosened up the 4 phillips bolts in it. I only have 2 I will search for the other

Here is part of the surround I pulled up, used a blow dryer so the clue would come undown.. Came up fairly easy

Well I went on UPS shipping Calculator and I wasnt sure if it would fit in one of there pre sized boxes so I chose PAK which I assume stands for package I put the weight in as 20lbs which it weighs 19.6 and width and length at 12 inches and I put in the height at 7.5

and for their most basic shipping it was 40 bucks

I think your doing it wrong

 
flip it up side down n have someone pick it up by the motor then take the rubber mallet to the basket. should pry off just don't let them drop the motor when hitting the basket with mallet

 
FYI I hammered on mine for 30mins also and that won't do the trick as the glue holds it together.

Only way to get it off is to use a heat gun and then wedge something between the motor and basket... the motor will come right off
