My friend has an Audiobahn a1300hct amplifier that does 1,200rms @ 1ohm. He now has two shitty audiobahn subs that ****. He wants new subs and told me to look for him for something good. I was thinking about going with two 12" Type Rs (dvc4) and run them @ 1ohm. What do you guys think? Will it get loud? Ive never actually heard anything from Alpine but all the hype here about them must be good subs so I decided to give them a try. This will go in a trunk of a Mazda 6.

You should already know whats gonna happen. You're gonna get the same responses you've seen all over, so whats the point? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Anyhow, if ya already bought....then tell us what you think.

I haven't bought it yet though. Im looking up subwoofers that he will most likely be more than happy with. Im thinking either two 15" Kicker CVRs in a sealed enclosure or two 12" Alpine Type Rs in a ported enclosure but im not sure if the ported box will fit in the trunk

Nevermind just found out that the ported box specs for a type r are Ported box volume: 0.75-1.75 so it should fit in the trunk
What does that mean though? any sub will work in just about any box I guess you could say. That ranges is nuts. I mean that more than double in size and that biggest size is 1.7 cubes gross. Way too small imo.
