Alpine Type R 1243D's

I know everyone use to be real high on Alpine type R's but its too my understanding that they remodeled the subwoofer.

Are the new type R's worth a darn?

I am looking at getting 2 12's on probably a kicker ZX1000.1, or a ZX1500.1.

Any input is appreciated, and if there are better woofers for about the same price range, please point me in the right direction.

For as loud as they can get, their isn't much better for the price NEW. But if you wanted to go used, then their are better options.

The new Type-Rs seem very promising and Type R's have always been able to get loud while sounding good. I'd give em a try.....

I am probably looking to go new. I can get two of them on ebay shipped for 300. I'm trying to stay on a budget.

And another question, would the ZX1500.1 be too much for them?

i have two 12's type r's 1243d hooked up to a audioque 1200d and im running it at 4ohms and these subs pound loud in my impala with a stock radio using my droid x phone they are a really nice sub but i guess alpine just released some new type r's that can handle 1000rms!!!!

After box rise and not having perfect electrical, your alpines won't be seeing a true 750 each..

Hes right, the new Type X is 1000rms and the new Type R is 750rms

I just looked on alpines website and the type r is only 600rms.

Get them. Just heard a pair the other day, If you're wanting new on a budget like that, you really can't beat em.
