Alpine Type R 12 box help

thats horsepoop lmao. If you dont, that would mean A LOT of people would be having port noise right now. The program is not smart enough to figure out actual projected resistance and rise, even if you change the impedance values it does nothing to the rear air velocity.
LOL!.. OK... now I see I was correct the first time in that instance... this might save someone some headaches in the future... his port area calculator had issues as well if I recall correctly...

Thanks for the help once again...

yeah with his calc you always end up with WAAAAY too much port area. Extremely flawed to the max. Along with not taking any account for the sub's parameters. Honestly IDK why this garbage calc even exists. a simple pair of 12s on 5k(not clamped) tuned to 35hz needs 20 port per cube minimum and 27 port per cube optimally? lmaoo

From my personal experience and many of my buddies that have been rebuilding boxes left and right. with too much port area they needed a lot more power just to get as loud as the guy with the proper amount of port area for the power they were running which was usually much less. A lot gained from shrinking port area. Hence why you need to factor in clamped numbers with winisd and not what the sticker on the amp says.

Thats why some guys running prefabs with a pair of 12 inch sony xplodes and a cheapo amp can break 140 db its actually the right amount of port area and tuning according their power. The setup matching the cabin gain helps as well.

BTW happy birthday here's a free copy of bass box pro. enjoy. Its quite a bit better than winisd but has a bigger learning curve. The serial number is on a text file on there.
