Alpine 10” Type-R Subwoofer 2Ohms

and what gauge wire i should use to power my AMP i was thinking 4 but will 8 work?

You can get alot better for the same price. Make sure it's RMS wattage is @1 ohm or 4 ohms(cuz you gotta DVC 2 ohm sub). 500 watts to an R will be plenty.
