Hello, I am just getting back into car audio after 10 years. I have a 03 Tahoe I'm slowly putting a system in. What a pain in the *** these new cars are. Long gone are the days of power, ground, and a memory wire and your good to go.

I am running some of my old equipment. A Earthquake 4300txo 4ch. amp running the stock bose speakers. A Soundstream Reference 700s Running a 12" Earthquake Magma. I was running this off the stock HU but it didn't sound as good as I expected though.

Today I just installed a new HU, a Kenwood DDX-6019. The sound quality is much better now. Components are next on my list.

I think the bug has bit me once again as it did years ago. All I think about is what I want to buy next! Just wanted to say hi. This is a nice place to find alot of good info. I wish I had this site back in the day.

Welcome Brah. You have a decent ride to do a build in. You plan on tearing it all down one day or just using what you have?
I would like to have a nice sounding system with some bump. thinking maybe 1-18 or 2-15s. I don't want to loose my cargo area for good. So the box must be removable. My amps will stay under the rear seat. I'm using all the old stuff now because I've had it for years just sitting around (didn't cost a dime to get back in the game).

I'm willing to update/upgrade equipment. But from what I see of new amps I think mine are hard to beat. Unless I need more power for some big subs. I will probably collect stuff through the winter and upgrade in the spring. I am already pretty happy with how my system sounds now.

Maybe we can get together for some coffee? PM me
I think Florida is a little to far for coffee. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

In most cases; especially in electronics - it gets cheaper and better as the years goes on!
Have fun!
I hope thats the case. I can see things got cheaper. I hope quality hasn't dropped as much as the prices have. Back in the day it cost around $1 per watt if you wanted quality power

Welcome man. Nice equipment btw //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I used to own a few magma's back when.
Yeah the Magma still holds its own. It seems most subs today wouldn't be around if it weren't for the magma paving the way. A freind has 2 RE se 12s getting about 1300 watts. My 1 magma with about 900watts sounds alot more musical. not quite as loud but better SQ.
