Age and car audio

OK folks out of curiousity how old is everyone and how long have you been involved in car audio? Do you look for SQ or SPL?

I'm 36, have been involved with car audio off and on since I was 16, and I want it ALL Actually, I prefer SQ that can get a little loud.

I miss the good old days of my high school woodworking class. EVERYONE wanted me to build their subwoofer enclosures for them as my projects. I never had to pay for materials:veryhapp: Hell, some of them even gave me their old gear as a form of payment in addition to providing the materials. Ahh, the good old days!

I am 18. I got into car audio at age 14. I was SPL while i had my Cutlass Calais POS because it was easy to get loud. Now that i have a some what decent looking car i am 100% SQ and i dont think i will ever go back to SPL.

I'm 33 and mostly into sq. Not that spl isn't fun, just not practical with what I drive and the lack of events in my area. Next year I will be building a system for sq for my Volvo but that's after the truck is done.

Right now I just use my 18 years of automotive experience and knowledge to build systems that are flexible in the types of music that they reproduce.

20 now. Got into it at about 17. I am in between SPL and SQ. I like loud and low bass (mid 20's to 45), as well as midbass. But, I dont like loud highs at all.

Started car audio around 18, I'll be 23 in a month +/-. Was more spl but with shitty equipment, now i'm def sql... still love loudness but don't want to disturb the peace, that ain't me

Im 37. been doing this since 1987. I have seen alot of caraudio equipment come and go. Its amazing if you think back at what was around. Majestic amps, Fury amps, MTX crankers, Fultron, pullout head units, Crystal subs...man the history. The old timers will know.

I'm 23, been in car audio since about ten, when I used to help my brother with all his installs. My car is a little for SPL, and my SUV for SQ. I know I have it backwards LOL
