Advisement on Wall Build!!!

what was net volume/tuning/port area for your wmd subs?
It was 7.73 cubes before sub and port displacement per pair. I had 62 inches of port tuned to like 35 hz. Sub displacement was .254. And the vent took up .7400cubes. So between the 2 subs they had 6.482 usable cubes of airspace.

Since that issue is behind us...
What is your goal? A loud street beater or do you want to do good on the meter? How much power are you running?
Loud *** daily driver that isn't gonna look to terrible on the occasional local competition term-lab.

Around 2500+ watts for the 4 subs. 2 Kicker SX1250.1s for them.

If I were you, I'd put the ports on the drivers' side.

a) You'll at least get the illusion that they're moving a lot of air because the port will be blowing on you when its cranked.

b) In walled setups, they tend to do better on the meter when the port is on the drivers side.

I rather only do a 148 to maybe a 150 and be able to do a hair-trick passenger window side then just get the illusion.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif. My intention is to be loud as hell to the ear and not as much so on meter.

A hair trick with 4 12s and 2500w is wishful thinking. You'll need more power and / or more cone area. The L7s are potent woofers for sure, and I bet they could take a pair of ZX2500.1s. That would take a lot of work to make your electrical able to handle that.

I don't think you have enough port area to get what you are looking for.You need a big port to move alot of air or alot of cone area.I would build a new box common chamber port on the drivers side. With 160-175 sq in of port area and 12-15 cu ft of air space.

I have the electrical to back 7k. But i just wanted to run the SX's cus I love how you can control them from the front of the car but. 4 L7 12s is barely a hundred inches shy of cone area from 4 round 15s.

I have seen a few car's due half *** hair tricks with 1000 watts on a pair of 12s. So I know I can do it in a wall for sure.

That was my reason for asking on where port placement should be. Because if there is a place to put the port for better on a meter then there has to be a place to put the port to push more air. RIGHT???//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif At least im hoping.

Thats alot of port for 4 12s don't you think. That will prob sound pretty muddy and not very musically accurate. I would think.

My biggest concern is the suspension of the L7s with that kinda air-space and port area.

I had a 15" L7 in 4.5cf @ 34hz and it took 2000w on music no problem over the period of 6 months or so. I sold it and it was still in good shape. I think they could handle 675w apiece no problem, even with a large port.

I know they will handle the power im just worried about unloading them with that kind of airspace and port area.

I had an audioque 2200.1 on a single CVX 12 for like 2 months the coil didn't mind but the suspension hated me.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
