Advice?

Well I might be selling my 2 12" type R's in a custom sealed box to my buddy for 225. I mean I like them and all, but I want something better. I am thinking more on the sq side of things. I listen to alot of older rock and alternative and once in a while I will pop in some soul retro or r&b, rap once in a great while.

I am running a Lanzar 1200 vhc old school amp. It dosent do excat rms but is close. Is in the 900 range. I am either thinking 1 15, 2 12's or 4 10's. What do you guys think. I want to stay around 400 bucks for sub and box.

Can you make your own box? If not, I would say rlp, ID Max, maybe one of the new Exodus subs when they come out, or pick up something used on the forums. You should be able to get a pretty decent box on the forums for a good price.

If you're wanting to lean towards SQ then maybe a Diamond D6 15"? 900 watts isn't all that it would take but it'd be happy with it, I'll wager.

I had 2 12" ported in my car when I first got it. I then put the 12's in a sealed box and it somewhat sounded better as far as SQ. I took the 2 12's out and went with 3 10's sealed, and it sounds better than the 2 12's sealed. I had punchier tighter bass response. I see that you like alternative rock, my 10's sound good playing rock, very accurate.

i agree with the 1 15 D6 an IDMAX would be good too..they sound great in sealed enclosures

Thanks guys. I always wanted an idmax sub. But I looked on woofersect.com and they are 330 just for the 12". So I dont know. The diamond d6 does loook nice as well.

I will check into the magnum and the rlp as well. I could build a box if my back wasnt so fuc ked up. So who is a good box builder on here,lol!

Try different sealed boxes for the type r's. also i've always like the sound of jl audio subs try w3's.
