advice on subwoffers

quick question... just got back from the local audio shop with my friend, and asked him what he thought about the tc-1000, he told me they are good subs but mainly used for blurbs. i thought they were something you could use for a daily driver?

Acctually dumbass if you would read I said that the $250 L7 wasnt the best price on ebay(I just said it was 200$ better than sonic)...and that you can find it NEW for even cheaper(as I did when I bought my 15 inch L7 BRAND NEW for $205 shipped... acctually I think it was 203 shipped)

So in that case you can get 2 of those for.... hmmmm $406 shipped brand new. and $150 for a BOX? wow you seriously must be a dumbass(or have money to waste) if your going to pay $150 for a box, when you can build one yourself for like $30...You can get it cut at lowes, and buy some wood glue... caulk... and the board of wood for somewhere around there. and WOW its not WIRED OMG just do a little reading and you can figure it out. Im not a whiz at this stuff, and I have had my fair share in wiring problems but I live and learn as do we all. Its really not that hard if you ask for advice(thats what this forum is all about)

So lets see... 2 15 L7's for $406...build a box for $30 and some wiring for $10

so you save 200-300 you dumbass. Have fun wasting $300, or wait is that your mommy and daddys money!?!?!? haha.... oh yeah and ive gone farther in math than you ever will.

you may be right in a handful of cases, but normally ebay does have better prices on most things. just take the guess work out of it, get a pen and paper, and shop around for identical products. don't forget to add shipping costs in. can't go wrong with a little work on your part.

Yeah ebay does normally have some really really good prices on things, Im sure you can find some great deals in this forum if you want to deal at a much higher risk.(unless the seller is rep'ed)... Shop around for the prices and look into getting a good deal. If you rush into purchases(as I once did) you will kick yourself in the @ss for it later

I make considerably more $ than that, and I still make my own boxes. Being too rich or too lazy to bother are a couple of pretty piss-poor excuses when debating on a car-audio hobbiest website, imo.

I guess for me it comes down to, if I was gonna have someone build/ship me a box, why not just have the whole system done and quit pretending Im some sort of enthusiast.

I like 12's because they are more accurate than 15's however most can't get really low. I like 10's for rock and 15's for rap but I had to compromise and get the 12's since I listen to both. I can't really aim you towards a sub, but I can tell you a custom made box thats tuned (if ported) makes all the difference.

Generally speaking, 15's usually do hit lower notes than 12's. also, the lighter the cone=faster firing. So you me to tell more cone area(and more weight) is going to hit faster than less cone area of the same model of sub?

Up till now you are talking about something you seem to know nothing about. But I can tell you, regardless of if it was just the woofer, I have heard kicker comps, 12's and 15's in the right boxes (according to kicker) and using the same Amp out of my friends truck. We wired them into my car before I had my box me so I could hear them. The 12's weren't as sloppy as the 15's for songs that the bass tones were closer together. So how can your document explain that?

First off don't talk to me like I'm some ****ing stupid ***. I read the **** thing, and I heard the difference. Whether it was the sub size or another factor, I don't know. I heard the difference and I can admit that I was wrong according to that document. I know its not yours either, but you posted it. So whatever, I don't really ****ing care either way.
