advice on subwoffers

well its depends on how much power you want.... how much bass you want too.... 2 is better then 1 in most cases unless there different models.... usualy 2 12's is pretty good for most poeple who just use there car for casuall driving like to work and where ever else.... poeple who go into comps like 15's....

if you have the money then i would suggest 15's.... my boi got a sick deal on an alpine r type 15inch sub lol, 2000W max and 750 Rms.... and he got a 800W mono amp with it. the guy paid over 700 for it all.... my boi traded him a 10in pioneer sub... and a 150W kicker amp hahah... the guy is now selling that for 80$... if you have a CC then check this site out http://www.sonicelectronix.com/ amzaing prices on almost evertying... like that 15 inch alpine is only 189.99... they got dual kicker L7's for like 600 in a box.... if you really are rich they got 18inch kickers for 699 each... 10000 max power and 5000 rms... im sure those would pound lol

I like 12's because they are more accurate than 15's however most can't get really low. I like 10's for rock and 15's for rap but I had to compromise and get the 12's since I listen to both. I can't really aim you towards a sub, but I can tell you a custom made box thats tuned (if ported) makes all the difference.

Lies. Lies. Lies.

Any size subwoofer can play just as "accurate" or "low" as any other size. Its all in the install and equipment... and partially the beer.

Oh and do you already have the bxi2006? If so, then oh well... if not, dont get it. Its highly overrated, and others have had problems with em.

On a side note, wtf is a "subwoffer"?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hilarious.gif.02a037aad04aa96f19982b298a3d70a8.gif

late night:crap: but i just got the amp and can bring it back. after some looking i think i might be leaning toward something like 2 12 tc-1000... and what are some amps you would suggest. i plan on spend like a grand on subs and an amp

Generally speaking, 15's usually do hit lower notes than 12's. also, the lighter the cone=faster firing. So you me to tell more cone area(and more weight) is going to hit faster than less cone area of the same model of sub?

Um no. Thats not what Im saying. Im not saying an 15 will be "faster" than an 8 of the same model. Im saying they have the ability to be equally responsive to each other in a properly designed enclosure. As long as the woofers are built well and are in properly sized/designed enclosures with sufficient power, you wont be able to tell a difference except for loudness.

This is not correct. There is no such thing as "fast bass". Bass is bass. 12's hit just as low as 15's do; 8's can hit just as low as 18's can. The difference is the volume level. An 18" can produce more volume at 20Hz than an 8" because it is sweeping more air at once. And that's what its all about...

Best,

heres the link to sonic...

http://sonicelectronix.com/item_6392_Kicker+06S15L72.html

I put 2 links to ebay instead of 1.... sorry for that.

Acctually dumbass if you would read I said that the $250 L7 wasnt the best price on ebay(I just said it was 200$ better than sonic)...and that you can find it NEW for even cheaper(as I did when I bought my 15 inch L7 BRAND NEW for $205 shipped... acctually I think it was 203 shipped)

So in that case you can get 2 of those for.... hmmmm $406 shipped brand new. and $150 for a BOX? wow you seriously must be a dumbass(or have money to waste) if your going to pay $150 for a box, when you can build one yourself for like $30...You can get it cut at lowes, and buy some wood glue... caulk... and the board of wood for somewhere around there. and WOW its not WIRED OMG just do a little reading and you can figure it out. Im not a whiz at this stuff, and I have had my fair share in wiring problems but I live and learn as do we all. Its really not that hard if you ask for advice(thats what this forum is all about)

So lets see... 2 15 L7's for $406...build a box for $30 and some wiring for $10

$446

so you save 200-300 you dumbass. Have fun wasting $300, or wait is that your mommy and daddys money!?!?!? haha.... oh yeah and ive gone farther in math than you ever will.
