anybody have the 12" Alpine TYPE S? thinking about buying them need feedback

i ran a type s sealed for my first system. it was ok off 600 rms with the gains set low. i also ran it in a 2.7^3@32 hz box and it gets loud for the budget sub that it is. dont expect much of a low end though

Brother runs a type E in his truck... and it really does the trick... he's feeding it 900watts with barely any gain and it loves it. Other buddy runs a type E with 250watts, and well, it sounds good.. but not winning any comps ANY time soon.

sry, don't know about type S's..but it looks like everyone knows about the r, and i know about the e.

the type S is a pretty good entry level sub. My friend has 2 12" in a REAL install and they are terrific. but like the other guy said, if you go alpine, get the R.

Like the other people suggest, save a little more for the type R. Better sound quality and louder. But they also need more power. But if you are low budget, the type S are not bad but there are other subs that are better for the same price.
