Advice neede for new install

Hello guys, Noob here...

I'd like some advice in what to do with my new car. It is a Kia Rio5 2013. I will be keeping the stock HU for now since it has the steering wheel controls, integrated Bluetooth, Ipod connector, And its the UVO system (similar to the Ford SYNC) touch screen. I'd loose to much by changing the HU and I dont have the funds to add a new HU + all the adaptors. I will be using a LOC from David Navone which is a 4 channel 50w unit.

Now since this is a really small car I don't need to have a 10000RMS watt system. And space is really an issue. I'd like to mount amp-s under the seats. I was looking a the skar amp SK-85.4 but I think it will be too tight for the underseat area. It ''might'' fit though.

I have an old MTX thunder280 that I could use to power my sub and it would fit under one seat. I could buy another 2 channel amp to power my front components and it would fit under the other seat. **any suggestion on 2 channel amps around 200$ shp. inc.** Would it be ok to have 1 power line from battery and then a T-block to go feed each amp?

As for components I was looking at either the CTX65CS - Image Dynamics 6.5" Component Speaker System or the VXI65 - Skar Audio 6.5" 350W Component Loudspeaker. **Any other suggestions in the component department in this price range (120-160)?**

For sub I was planning on using my old Jl 12w0 (the first gen) In the spare tire well in a custom fiberglass box so I would be able to keep all the cargo space available. I do not have money right now for a new sub but eventually will be able to change it.

I dont want to have to change anything that I will be buying once I change my sub or Hu or whatever. Might even add a sound processor or EQ down the line.

So for 400-450 total inc. shipping (Woofersetc.com is nice for free shipping) what are your suggestions? Use old sub amp and add new 2ch amp, or buy new 4ch amp? Thanks in advance!

Ok so no one replied so I had to do a bit of more research. I found out Skar was a shady company so this was a no go; don't want to give money to some a**hole. I went with the Massive Audio NX4 and some CTX65CS components like in the first post. Now, I was planning on running the front channels stereo for the comps and the 2 rear channels bridged for the sub. But would it be better to run a seperate amp for the sub? I could still use my oldschool MTX to power my sub, but that leaves me with the rear channels on the NX4 unused. Is there a way to use them in this situation? I've heard that having rear speakers makes the tuning really hard so I wasn't planning on using any. Any advise on this?

Also, I think I'll change my sub, but what to use? There are so many to choose from! I'm reasearching but all that's happening is I'm getting lost even more. So please could someone point me in the right direction. I want a SQ sub, in a sealed box ( around 1^3f) for a hatchback car that could be powered by either my NX4 bridged (200w rms) or my MTX thunder280 (not sure on rms). I'm wanting a 10 or 12 inch sub in the 200 price range.

Another question, would an equalizer be needed since I will be using the stock HU? I'm sure this HU has a very limited EQ. If I need one, anoyone could point me in the right direction...

Skar or Kevin has never been shady with me........ //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/peace.gif.2db28b618ed8d1964ebbe2f5021d2c39.gif

FYI go read some legit reviews on that NX and see what you just got urself into.... Hope its cold where u live.

And overheats...
I have installed about 30 or them and had zero issues with any. Actually all massive amps we have worked with have had zero issues. However, I am not a huge fan of that particular company overall.

OP as for Skar/Kevin goes..do your own research on the product and the owner and make the choice yourself what you want to do.

I have used a Dayton Titantic Mk III. Very impressed with Dayton subs.

Dayton Audio RSS315HO-4 12" Reference HO Subwoofer 4 Ohm 295-466

Oh well, thanks for the input guys. Seems like I'll be installing a fan over the amp haha. I've googled that amp numerous times over the last week and everything seemed ok. It was only 200$ so there is probably a reason for that.

Quackhead, thanks for the link for that sub, it's pretty interesting!

U must have got the only good batch the manf ever made then.. NX4 is a heatbox just like most Nano amps. SS nano's have the same issue stuff way to much power in a cig pack and all will be well... I now understand why the guys over on caco cant even give there NX4's away $100 shipped hell e1 I know likes to listen to music for more then 10mins before amp goes into protect. One of our Massive dealers/vendors on here told me If I plan on running at 2ohm stereo per channel then DO NOT GET THE NX4.... Hmmmmm atleast he was honest about it being an oven.

Ok so a little update, I got myself a nice Dayton sub; the one quackhead suggested, and instead of using the davidnavone LOC i'll be using a AudioControl LC6i. So this way I will be able to adjust lineout voltage differently for each amp. I'll use the NX4 for just my components which 4ohm and use my oldschool MTX for the sub. I hope this will be enough to keep the NX4 from overheating. If not, is it possible to keep an amp cool by running it with the case open? I dont mind looks since it will be under the driver's seat.,.. Could making a custom case with a fan mounted in help too?
