Hi ,

I need advice please.

On a limited budget I have started with a Blaupunkt Woodstock DAB head unit and want to now add decent speakers.

I have about £300-400 to spend on a good set of components. With that in mind do I go for a good set and drive them off the head unit or aim lower and add an amp.

Could people please recommend which speakers and (if required) which amps to look at.

Thanks,

Confused Newbie.

PS.

My guess is that I should go for the higher end speakers and add an amp as and when I can. I would still appreciate any direction that more knowledgable people can offer me.

Im guessing with a silvia you dont want to add alot of weight? But i would do a single set of components up front no rear speakers with a 4 channel amp bridged to run a small sub.

Im not sure what you can get over there or id recommend you some products

Thanks for trying to help.

You're right that I dont want to add masses of weight but I have a few HP to spare so I'm not too fussy.

We can get pretty much the same brands as you do over there, so what would you suggest with my budget?

*edit* the existing fronts are 6.5" (16.5cm) I think with seperate tweeters, if that helps you to know.

Can I run a sub successfully without an enclosure as space is a bigger issue than weight.
