Added nitrous to my car.

i know who tom dyer is... can't say i know the other 2 names
they are all guys i know from racing. memo's name is bigger than his. he drove for chip ganassi in the target sponsored champ car. joey drove for team dtsp in toyota atlantics, now he is the touring car driver for BMW in the lemans series. i also grew up racing with scott speed, torro rosso's formula 1 driver. all local guys that i grew up racing around.

you bought a GTO.....and its not even 5 speed?
First they would come with a 6 speed, not 5. Also as I have said I do not want a manual for a daily driver. On top of that I had planned for this to be more of a 1/4 mile car, which autos are better for that purpose.

theres a point in which you dont need a manual for the car to be fun. A point where shifting your own gears actually TAKES AWAY the car's fun, as it has so much power and great suspension and such from the factory that the slushbox is more fun to drive. I think the GTO would be in that category.
Yep yep //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

lol i wouldnt //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif automatics are crap unless you have a high power application. period. its been proven that on the track manual GTO's are quicker than automatics. Fun to drive and automatic dont go together.....ever lol.
So that's why on LS1gto.com the autos seem to be the fastest in almost every class (fastest... forced induction, LSX stroker, nitrous, bolt ons, cam only and stock). You really don't seem to know what you are talking about huh? IRS is not the best platform for drag racing anyways. IRS and a manual... heh well he better know how to drive. This is why I see a lot of manual GTO's that want into the low 11's or 10's switching to an auto.

BTW even with my car being an auto it's more then fun enough to drive //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

My parents SSR has a 6-speed, but the extra gears are only there for better gas mileage. I figured it would have short 1-5 gears and maybe the 6th would be longer, but all the gears are pretty long, I was disapointed, but it's still fun to drive.

Its all about the troque, and the 5.0s have plenty... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
HP aint nothin but a braggin right, troque wins races.

I guess thats why I own a mustang and you dont, they would be to good for you anyways.
Anyone who says Torque wins races shows their complete ignorance and lack of knowledge. Physics teaches us we can have all the torque in the world and be rotating at exactly 0 RPM. You wont get very far rotating at 0 RPM.

Physics also teaches us that Power is a unit of measure of F*D / time. Think of the power of an engine as Torque over rotational time. Time is what wins races, not ability to pull a 35' boat up a wet ramp.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif Torque can be multiplied through gearing, horsepower can not.

If you want to talk about WHY torque wins races, a flat torque curve makes for a linear power curve which means linear acceleration, you can pull longer with out shifting gears with out loosing acceleration. Time shifting is what can make or break races, espesiall stomp and go races (like drag racing).

300hp 5.0 vs 300hp 13bTT, weight and traction being the same, the 5.0 will likely win by a bit because it has a flatter torque curve so it has a mroe linear power curve.

Basically, a 5.0 moves a lot in a period of time, the 13bTT moves less in a much shorter period of time. ie, the 13b makes its power at extremely high RPMs.

Haha dude I'm not stuck in the honda world, you don't know me at all. I just can't stand it when people that are uneducated about hondas talk shit about hondas, when they don't know what they are capable of, so I like to prove them wrong. I like all kinds of cars man. I have a 68 Chevy shortwide with a mildly built 327 (edelbrock heads, intake, cams, carb, etc...) that I like to play with (you would have known that if you read any of my previous posts). I also love driving my parents 2005 LS2 equipped Chevy SSR, rwd kicks ***. I'm also getting into sportbikes recently and will be getting one next spring when the weather gets better. Just because I know about hondas doesn't mean I hate on everything else. P.S. I can find you plenty more hondas like those two I posted. The torque goes through the roof on hondas when you add a turbo, it might not be as much as a big V8, but in a lite *** honda it equals a lot! Plus too much low end torque equals wheel spin for us, so carrying the torque as high as possible is our goal.
Okay, answer me this. If you can get that much power from a honda engine, and still get 30mpg.... why dosen't any Automaker adopt this magical tecnique? I mean they all want to get better mileage. Wouldn't MB be all over this with their SL cars? ...

...

You obviously dont let facts get in the way of your arguments. but go ahead and try to argue that.

plus its a diesel.
I do not remember which magazine did the mod but I clearly remember a Dodge dually being modded out to run high 11s, low 12s with a...what was it again? Oh, yeah! A Cummins turbo diesel!!

Keeeee-Rect! The plant in Elisabeth, S Australia where your car was built is a truly nice facility. Cleanest GM plant I've ever been in.

Magical technique? WTF? I'm talking about one specific application, high horsepower turbo hondas that can still get great gas mileage. You all flipped out and called BS, I then proved you all wrong and explained how it can be done. It's as simple as that.

Dude your getting so far off topic now. Mercedes benz and other automakers have absolutely nothing to do with what I am talking about lol. I'll let you argue that one yourself, since I could care less.

I have seen videos of a big turbo diesel truck running into the 10's, it's pretty crazy. I'm sure you can find the videos somewhere on the internet.

No, dont try to dodge it. If you can actually get 30mpg out of a 700whp motor. why haven't any of the automakers figured it out? Why is it just a bunch of 12 yearolds. I mean, i'd think a company could make a killing off of a 700hp supercar that gets 30mpg.

Help me understand wise one.

I'm not dodging anything, your making up some stupid *** question because I proved you wrong and your angry lol. You just sound like an idiot now.

Seriously, why wouldn't they. Stop avoiding the question. Does this not make sense to anyone else? answer the question. You're a top CEO. You can make millions maybe even BILLIONS by producing affordable cars that produce 500-700hp cars that get 30mpg. hell, lets say 40mpg, since they have the money to pull that out of engines.... why dont you do it?

quit making bogus excuses and answer the question.

Do you mean to imply that you're smarter than EVERY single automobile manufacturer in the whole world? Why aren't you a millionare yet?
