Added nitrous to my car.

.... ya i bet putting your foot on the gas and going down the track is a blast.
I love shifting as i make my way down a dragstrip. id rather have slower times and do that then just press a pedal; any 16 year old can do that..
I knew someone would say that sooner or later when this subject came up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Some people like autos and think they are fun. While others like or only like manuals and think they are fun. For a daily driver I prefer an auto, that's why I have one.

If you FULLY built up your auto then i gurantee it would cease to be a daily driver.

So unless you own an all out race car.. manual

Well i dont have the cash to have a DD and a weekend/track/project/moneypit car, so my DD has to be a bit more.. thrilling than a stock auto slushbox.

And about the high stall TC's, i know about that, but didnt want to get into it cuz we werent talking about drag queens and stuff, but piss-ant stock saturns with nawz. Also, ive got a better ****** for ya when it comes to drag racing. My dad's uncle designed and built a ****** for his sandrail with spring loaded gears. It was a "reset it each race" kinda thing with a really high stall converter on it, but that thing shifted isntantly. I got to see pics of the sand rail. Mind you this was back in the 60's he built it, but it was still sexy. Now he just restores his corvettes.. he has a 63 split window and a 56 (im not sure might be 55, forgot which year they came out) both of em a bright *** red color and absolutely flawless. theyve won a lot of shows.

But back onto the main topic for DD mostly stock cars, manual is more fun. High output drag cars, auto with high stall FTW. ill agree with you whole heartedly on that one.

yesterday i had my friend install my zex wet kit..currently running a 100 shot on stock internals..tomorrow were gonna go with the 75 shot so i dont see a rod go through my block. oh and i beat my friends 95 gt.

A correctly built auto will hand a manual it's ***. With a high stall converter it will get the car in it's power band very quickly, on top of that it will keep it in it's power band. They are easier to launch than a manual and will be more consistent. It will also shift faster than a person can (IMO) and will never miss a shift. This is the reason an auto is better in the 1/4 than a manual.
I have an grand nationalt that has a little work done to it and runs flat 11s all day long in its auto glory....poperly setup auto ftw

i also had a 10 second iroc with 350 shot of nos and a bunch of other little things with a fully built 700r4 and a 3500 stall convertor and (that little cylinder i forgot whats its called but goes after the master cylinder and only locks your front wheels before the laucnh ) and it was completly daily drivable

i would drive it to work every day and back and to the track.

just one time when i went two stage and decided to shoot 400 shot i decided to trailer the car to the track had a bad fealing something will go wrong and something did. well just say me and a bunch of freinds had to push it on the trailer and that was no fun AT ALL

Look whos in the 16s //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
Ford Mustang GT (auto) 8.0 16.1

now if you have a manual your 1/4 time is 15.1

My car with nitrous would be in the 15s no problem. so STFU. kthxbye
You sure as hell dont know mustang time slips....

GT(autos) run low 15s (94-95 99-04)

GT(Manuals) run low 14s(94-95 99-04) STOCK

AND IVE ran 14.138 @ 97.33

you need to STFU and learn what a car runs, before making yourself look like a dumbass

Yea 96-98s were kinda slow

Also I dont know why you think your car is gonna be to much faster... You might pick up 3-4 tenth AT THE MOST and thats if you sray the whole time....

True True
P.S. this is rice.

honda-ricer.jpg
No, that is simply disgusting. It has gone so far beyond rice that even the real ricers probably wouldn't claim it.

lmao
im gonna put some nos on my ford escort and race you in your saturn.. u better watch out!
I thought you had a Focus now??

He was talking about a progressive injection system...and wtf are you talking about a window switch? Does your NAWS kick in when you roll down your window? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

You have to find the ones that were locked in garages or are still owned by little old ladies...
story...our next door neighbor restores old cars. He was recently at a show talking with one of his buddies. His friend had found a car out in the country (pasco county if any FL boys read this), in an oldddd run down shed next to an even more run down house. He thought he saw a car inside so he walked up and noticed the doors where chained shut so he went to the front door of the house and asked what was in the garage. Lady told him it was some POS chevy that she wanted to get rid of. So he walked out with her, curious and lo and behold...it was a '53 Corvette alll beat to hell from the elements. He offered her $30k and came back the next day and trailerd it home...He sold it at a barret-jackson car auction for $1.8mil...and retired the next day...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif
Even with the Blue Flame 6cyl I can't see a 1st year 'Vette selling for that much but as I wasn't present at the auction in question I can't call BS with any degree of certainty so I'll simply say great freggin deal, I 'spose.

Outside of that here locally an absolutely cherry '63 split-window sold for the princely sum of $200!!!

The car had been saved out of the field it was merrily rotting away in because it still had the factory drivetrain in it. The fella who saved it spent the next several years tinkering with it on the weekends restoring it back to its original beauty. Apparently the wife was left in a rather unimpressive state of neglect due to all the time said fella spent tinkering with his Sting Ray and consequently she divorced him. She mananged to get the car in the divorce with the requirement that if she were to ever sell it she had to give her ex-husband 1/2 of the sale price. So - just to piss him off she sold the car for $200 just to be able to send him a Bill Of Sale showing that the car was gone never to be recovered along with a check for $100. Can you imagine how steamed the dude was when he got that bit of correspondence in the mail! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

So how much do you have into your GTO including the cost of your car? How much horsepower and what kinda times does it run? Compare that to what it would cost for a honda, I bet it wouldn't even take half the money to build a honda with more horsepower and faster lol.
But your Civic will never be as aesthetically pleasing to the majority of folks as is the late-model Goats and that, sometimes, is a priceless commodity.

this thread needs to die.
Your continual posting in it with this same sentiment isn't going to help that process any //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I know, I know you don't have to tell me.
You would think 100-150 more HP would be enough, though then when you get use to it you want MORE MORE MORE!

I'm thinking about buying a custom glass box (for the trunk), 10" W7 and an Eclipse DA7122 amp for $550. Though at the same time the sub will be in the trunk cuz I'm too lazy to make anything for it. BAH!

Overall it's a nice car, nothing is perfect //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
But for an import (technically regardless of which GM badge it is sold under considering where the car is built/assembled) with a domestic drivetrain it's still a durn nice ride. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

And I've toured the factory where your car was made. Without a doubt the cleanest GM facility I have ever been inside of.

this thread needs to die.
See above...

Umm you have a 94 that im my opinion is one of the worst years made along with the 95s because they have the 5.0 in them.
