of course your 1 sub got just as loud...it had double the power and was performing CLOSER (even though not at full potential) to its full potential... you are wayyyy underpowering those subs.

Because 2 500/1 > 1 1000/1. At least that is the word on the street.

And buying a 500/1 is simpler than selling my 500/1 and finding / buying a new amp. Although if someone wanted to trade for mine plus cash for a 1000/1... I would do that.

The 2007 SLK's and C class sport sedans can be had with a manual. Every other Mercedes offered in America comes only as an automatic.

yes doubling power should yield the 3db increase, doubling cone area area but cutting power in half is almost the same as the single 12 off more watts. Now double cone area and double power+a correctly built ported enclosure you should see 6db+ in output, sq is goin to depend on the box

yeah its double cone area of same power and speaker= 3 db gain

double power to a speaker= 3 db gain

so thats 6 db gain if he has 2 12's recieving 1000 watts each vs. one 12'' recieving 500 watts.
