Adassa Audio subs *new pics of new line*

So basically, the plan is to shaft everybody else by cutting throats that are already bleeding? Or, is this a plan to revive Resonance because there is a limited market for people wanting to pay $400 for a 3500 series? How much are the price of the 9500G's going up over the F's? Is it gonna be a $50 rubber boot, taking it over $600?
Resonance/DD/Audioque has prided themselves on "made in the USA", why tarnish that and why not just stay there?[/QUOE

Your prejudices are well know as indicated by your sig and deserve no comments from me.

I am the sole owner of Audioque and speak only for Audioque. As far as DD's products and prices I believe they are competitive or they wouldn't be as popular as they are. I know their profit margins are far less than most.

Audioque will still offer American made products. We will, however, broaden our product line to compete with those who don't.

My prejudices are known because of the OWNERS OF THE PRODUCT, not the product itself. Resonance or anything associated with Resonance will never see another dime from me solely based on the conduct of the owners of the product, I want no association with them. But, that's another story.

The point of my post was the fact that you yourself has expressed your discontent for Chinese made product and parts in a direct conversation with me on the phone. You have made many posts on how you avoid getting ANYTHING from China and getting only what you can't get elsewhere. You now say you are making a completely Chinese line. To me, that makes you sound like a hypocrite and/or you are doing it solely for the money and not to support the USA and make a quality product for the sake of making a quality product.

I know what it costs to make subs, and I also know what normal margins are. If it costs Resonance $500 to make a 9500 series they charge $800 for, then they are getting ripped the hell off on material. I don't see it costing more than $150 to make a 9500 series, ESPECIALLY if you are tooling in house. For as much difference there is between an HD and a 9500 in tooling, there isn't $400 in price.

If you're going to take your Chinese line and price it like everybody else, fine, make your money. But don't undercut everybody else and put the industry even further in the hole. Ebay started it, you'll finish it.

I think its a hella idea //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif build your own woofer to your own specs, get all the pieces and put them together at home or have AQ put them together!! think of the POSSIBLITIES, could take all the great things from say 3 woofers and put them together to make a unique one. Sounds good to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Im sure the price should be good also being the parts are made in china. Ibanander you hate the world!!! DD/AQ has one of the best customer service departments on earth, for AQ the owner is the customer support, you cant beat that!!!! Great idea DJL //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You put me up there with some pretty big players. GET REAL, I am probably one of the smallest fish in the ocean of car audio. You have no idea of what it costs to build our products. I will price our new products with the same margins we now work on. If that brothers you so be it.

Your right I don't like to support offshore products and I will continue to buy American whenever possible. I will even offer American "upgrades" to our Chinese products. I know American hand built quality is better and we will continue to handbuild our Flagship subs in house.

The simple truth of the matter is we have to compete with offshore built subs/parts. Our present American made parts/labor lineup is far more expensive to build than the offshore products but we think it is worth it. Our parts and labor costs are much higher so in order to be competitive our profit margins are much lower. Don't get me wrong here, we do make a fair profit we just don't **** the enduser.

Perhaps a fairer question would be why the offshore products are priced so high. If you like I could post the wholesale prices I receive daily from our Chinese friends.

Think of how somebody can throw parts together and come up with a total piece of crap! AWESOME! I like the idea, but there are a lot of variables that go into place with the end user which could turn into "this product sucks" when it was the user. But, that's not my problem.

I always got good service from DJ, DD on the other hand, not so much. They never got shipping right on my recones. It always went to the wrong place, even after confirming the correct shipping address. Then there is the 2-2.5 weeks of down time that it takes to get it to me after its sorted out.

You know the website I'll send ya to.

If I bought coils from a Chinese owned company I would be the first to say so. If I couldn't find an American supplier and a Chinese supplier could produce the consistant quality of coils I use I wouldn't have a problem with that either. I would rather buy American if I can; sometimes I can't. I have to buy Chinese magnets because I can't buy them here. Magnets are not as critical as coils. We do have the machinery in house to wind our own coils if need be.
I do try to keep my posts civil but you do sometimes post things not based on fact.

As far as Chinese products go I will be introducing some Chinese products made to our specific designs and clearly labeled as made in China in the near future at prices which reflect their actual build cost without the excessive markups found in most of the subwoofers made in China or assembled from Chinese parts. I will be using only the best Chinese Parts and Chinese build houses .In addition we will stock repair parts for the most popular offshore produced subwoofers as well as "build your own subwoofer kits" with a choice of motors, coils and cones.

You can truly say with those products we use Chinese parts but they won't be CHEAP Chinese parts.

I love it when a manufactuer pwnts themselves publiclly. You know there are quite a few people now online here and on other fourms that are fully aware of all of the production, manufacutirng, and incoured labor costs with building equipment lines. So I guess you can fool the masses most of the time with particular choices in words attempting to explain the cost breakdown from the manufacturers point of view, but to try to convince people that a $150 cost on a sub build is worth $800 is ridiculuas no matter how you word it.

I really have no problem with Audioque, however DD as a whole has had some of the worst customer service ive ever....and I mean EVER dealt with in all my business interactions. Now that doesnt of course reflect weather their product is good or not....however if you cant get your product to the people then why bother?

That is a very good question //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Ibanander---> that is true but if you like a certain motor, a certain basket/cone materials......... It would be sweet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif For myself i will continue to purchase AMERICAN "flagship" woofers, it is the best quality period, I would for amps but the majority of high quality/most watts are built in korea so theres no option there. As for a user making up his own subs im sure DJ will point that person in the right direction so that user knows that the sub will perform for that application. "flagship" woofers FTW!!! But anyways this thread isnt about AQ/DD/whatever lets keep this on track for snoopdan. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

If you aren't part of the solution, you are part of the problem. Every time you sell a sub for $150 that is comparable to majority of $300 subs and cost you $50, the other places start hurting so they start cutting costs where they can and take less profit. Then, they start making inferior products and the brand goes to crap. In the end, you have a bunch of product that manufacturers, distributers, and dealers can't make money on because everybody wants to buy $100 speakers that work like $300 speakers. Shops go out of business because they can't make profit, which means there are less shows and interest, which is a continuous downward spiral. Ebay started it by having products available just above cost so everybody expects to get everything for that. Anybody who has overhead can't pay their bills. There was a time when shops could make money and nobody thought twice about payin $1/watt for an amp and your best selling subs were $250 a piece.

You have to compete with offshore products? I thought you were doing fine all along, does this mean you're on your way out and this is what was come up with to save the business? If you are as much as stable, you don't have to "compete".

You're right, I don't know what it costs to build your product, but I have a pretty good idea. Since it isn't what my idea is, you're either under what I think or you are getting ***** by your suppliers. Humor me, I'd love to see your list. Maybe some of us can lead you to somebody else so you can make some more money.

Perhaps you should get your facts straight before you let your mouth override your brain. That thing you called a coil/cone assembley was freely given. Nobody tried to steal anything. Call Mike Blanchfield while you still have some credibility.

As far as being a coward don't count on it. Jess didn't respond to your e-mails because there was nothing to resond to.

Yeah there is some credibility issues here, but it has nothing to do with Johnathan //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I hate to see my thread turned into this, however the outcome of it is certainly "revealing".
