ACTIVE - Imaging - Center Image - Center focus

Also, i'm not sure about that pink noise stuff... that would probably be the last thing i use to try and get a center focus. I would use it to RTA, though.
Sorry, didn't mention it was 'mono' pink noise:)
Keep it simple //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Generally works best in most cases

The tuning capabilities of an active system are a double edged sword. IMO its overrated & over recommended, as phasing issues/shifts occur in every step of the tuning process. It takes alot of patience & know how that the majority of us just don't have the gall for.

mono or not, I can't see myself using it for t/a purposes. If it works for you, then what can I say. I'd personally just use songs with strong center vocals. male and females vocals, and multiple songs to be sure its centered.

The biggest advantages to Active vs passive are extreme power handling that will over drive most passive x-overs, and being able to skip the entire passive x-over design process. Which can be a hit or miss affair with significant room for trail and lots of error.

A well designed passive x-over with correctly matched components is worth it's weight in gold. (And sometimes costs almost as much).

This is why nobody uses passive x-overs for thier subs. Active subs makes too much sense.

One time I demo'd a car that was so sweet, you could hear jeezy swinging his LV rag above his head, dead center stage.

Can you TA your way out of a midrange "out of phase" issue?

Say my tweeters are in phase, my mid is out. Can I use TA to delay

or change the timing such that the mids go in phase? What is the

relationship between polarity and phase?

Easier to just flip the polarity.

If speakers are in phase electronically, doesn't mean the sound waves will be when they reach your ears.

How's your system sounding James? Your T/A was off last time I heard your car. Getting a center image with no T/A in my next setup is going to be a pain in the ***. I'm thinking I might just give in and get a HU w/ T/A. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Balance and T/A is better. Its sounding much better now. My left tweet was my major prob since it's so damn close and they're so damn sensitive.

And yes, just get an HU w/ T/A and 3way xover.. how about that clarion one for sale at newegg?

The main problem I'm having right now is I want a HU that I can easily plug a flash drive or has easy access to an aux input but that also has T/A. That way I have convenience and can still retain some good SQ when I use my SQ cds. This unit is perfect because it has that plus it looks stock, but of course it only has 2 sets of preouts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
