hello im new to the forum but have been a looker for a while now. i've heard of people running around 1k through them. im assuming this is the 12". i currently have a 10" running off a alpine mrp-m450 (400 rms) in a 1.25^3 box tuned to 32Hz. would i be able to safely run this off a mrp-m850 (800 rms)? any other suggestions about anything would be greatly appreciated. ~John

run all 800 to it... it will take it fine if you know what you're doing.

It all comes down to whether or not you are good with a volume knob. If the coil starts to smell then you need to turn the volume down. I run a 2500+W amp on a single R and don't have any problems because I use good judgment.

When I had my R's, I was running them first off a BXi2006D and then an SAZ1500, so they were always seeing around 6-700.

I beat the hell out of them - especially before I knew what I was doing.

My car would smell like coil and I'd still be bumping hard, probably clipping the hell out of them - never had a problem. Abused them for 3-4 months before I found this site and stopped being so ignorant.

With a smaller box they will take power better than in a larger box.

im running 4 10"s off from an mm3000.1 and they take it like its nothing all you have to do is be smart about it

those R's should take 800rms np's.....just do not go under tuning and do not clip them.

they are probably some of the toughest subs i've used.

you could throw all 800 watts at it. even more if you wanted. just be easy with your gains/volume knob. read around on gain settings when you get an amp picked out.

thats what im not quite sure about how to do is set the gains with a dmm. i guess i have some reading to do. im thinkin the 850 or maybe even the 1000.1 if im feelin lucky.
