I'm looking a top post battery terminals to replace the stock ones. They're fairly thin with very little room to add auxiliary wiring to them. The positive one is okay, but the negative one looks to be in bad shape. I'm planning on doing the Big 3 upgrade, so I figure I'd just replace them both, since they're oftentimes sold as a set.
At first I looked at the fancy block-style machined ones, but they typically take 1/0 gauge and all my wiring is 4 gauge.
I found two sets of Pico brand terminals. Both look beefy, well reviewed, and are cheap. I can get a lug crimper and go to town.
Option 1
Option 2
Question 1: How do I terminate the connections on Option 2? Strip bare wire and squash it under that plate?
Questions 2: Can I just cut the ends of the stock wiring and attach it to new terminals?
Question 3: Do you have any better recommendations for battery terminals that will accept multiple 4 gauge wires (either bare or crimped with ring terminals)?
Thanks.
